What’s new:
- 0 to 60 mph time
- Quarter mile time
- Stop/Start recording data
- Quickly reset odometer and max speed
- Reset text colors
Note: 0-60 mph and 1/4 mile times are in their beta form. I wouldn’t rely too much on the results. And you won’t get milliseconds because the GPS receiver reports your location only once in a second. We’ll see how it can be improved. Also, we’ll add 0-100 km/h time for non-US and non-UK users in the next version.

hope thatyour internet communication to be more faster than ever.thanks for your good services
I like the added 0-60 time and the 1/4 mile times. I was hoping to see more info. like when i do the 1/4 what the speed was, not just the time. Or maybe when you do a 1/4 mile, it shows your time for 0-60 on the way.
I can’t wait to test it out on my motorcycle. But now I know for sure that my work’s cube van is slow. A whopping 19.1 sec 1/4mile, and 10.99 0-60.
So…this hasn’t really worked for me since I upgraded to pro. :(. It no longer works in the background…it seems to revert to older odometer values. Also, it doesn’t seem to save the new values at all. I drove from ny to dc twice, and it recorded a total of 53 miles.
Also, it seems to open multiple instances of itself….if I try to exit, I sometimes have to click exit 6 or 7 times to get it to fully close (if it is fully closed). Also, It doesn’t seem to like non-fullscreen mode…I have the fullscreen mode unchecked, but sometimes it displays the status bar, sometimes it doesn’t. I can’t find any rhyme or reason…
Am running. Froyo 2.2 on a moto droid. The non-pro version seemed to work for me. 🙁
How is SpeedView control speed limit ? How does this app know if I’m in city or on highway ? Are you using data from google maps ? or openstreetmaps ?
@Anonymous
Yes, we’ll add more info to the 0-60 mph and 1/4 mile screens in the next version, as well as 0-100 km/h time for non-US and non-UK users.
@Daedalus
This is very strange. The Pro version is absolutely identical to the Free version apart from the address bar and addition of the advanced logging options. Anyway, you should contact us via email for further help.
@Coudy
SpeedView doesn’t know that. You have to set the speed limits manually.
Speedview Pro does not work in the background. I drove from the place I live to Amsterdam, a 135 km. drive. According to Speedview Pro it took me 15 seconds.
When set to run in background and GPS is disabled, 2.4.1 Pro does not terminate when I click Exit from the opening dialog.
Scenario: Speedview is set to run in background. GPS is disabled. I accidentally click on SpeedView. It reports “GPS is disabled”, and one of the buttons says Exit. If I press it, Speedview goes into the background (judging by its appearance on the Notification Bar). If I select it from the Notification Bar, I get the “GPS is disabled” dialog again. The only way I have found to end the program is to press the Settings button, enable GPS, let Speedview run, then (finally) select Exit.

Please contact us via email with more details (what phone do you have, Android version, etc.)
@Larry C
Yes, it’s a bug. Thanks for reporting, we’ll fix it in the next version.
I purchased the speedview pro because the free version stoped working, and now the pro is nt working either
What do you mean stopped working? At least give us some more details, we can’t fix an abstract problem.
I have a droidx ,the app worked fine for a while but now it locks up and nothing happens,
I’ve just bought SpeedView 2.4.1 Pro and I haven’t had a chance to use it in my car yet. I am just playing about with it and I’ve noticed that there is no EXIT option.
I haven’t selected the ‘run in background’ option, so does the app stop when I press mt Home key?

Yes. If you haven’t checked the “Run in the background” option, the app will stop when you press either Home or Back key. If you want to send it to the background, use a “Minimize” button in the Options menu.
The application is very nice but I have one problem. How can I access the menu to change from miles to km.
Thank You
Use the Options Menu -> Settings -> Display units.
Well, I’ve had several chances to try the speedo in my car and it’s not good, I’m afraid. When I take a bend or a corner, the goes haywire. Also, despite being connected to 9 satellites, I have noticed that the speed has a tendency to waver by as much as 10 mph.
It’s a nice toy but, as an accurate instrument it’s as much use as a chocolate teapot.
Should have said “speed goes haywire.”
