I buy TeraCopy at Bits du Jour today
But I gave the wrong E-mail address.
What should I do?
Please help me! Thanks……

This guy tested TeraCopy against Vista’s native explorer and says TeraCopy is no longer relevant. Any comments on this article before I buy the product?
probably a non-fragmentent file being copied to a non-fragmented location. Being a single file the difference would be smaller.
As soon as you work with more than 1 file, or fragmentation the difference becomes very obvious

oh and i forgot to mention, he tested “same drive mode”, it’s different drive mode that really shines for me

TeraCopy Pro v2 Final, Favourite Folders do not work under Vista x64 using xplorer pro x64 or Windows Explorer. After checking the timestamps of DLL’s, most were 22-06-2009 but TeraCopyExt64.dll’s was 21-06-2009!

TeraCopy is not only about the speed. You can test free version to see it yourself. Let me quote one comment on LifeHacker:
Let’s say you’re copying your entire MP3 collection to an external drive for safe keeping. You start the copy, watch the little pages fly between the two folders and marvel at how Windows insists it will take some absurd amount of time like 88 days to copy your data.
You come back 3 hours later and it’s frozen and you have no idea which files have been copied. You can attempt to compare the files on the external disk to the files on your computer and carefully select only the ones that didn’t copy properly, but that’s a huge pain in the ass and if you’re not careful you might miss an important file.
Using one of the above copiers ensures, at minimum, that when transferring lots of files you don’t end up tearing your hair out.
The increased transfer speed thanks to more efficient and copy handling is just a big bonus on top of that 😉

Can you explain how Favorite Target Folders work ? Note that I only start Teracopy Pro from the Explorer Context Menu.
Added separate app for this, hope it’s better than sub-menus. Favorite folders can be added by clicking on target folder name in TC and selecting “Add …â€.
My Teracopy app says PRO in the title bar, and this Favorites feature is still not enabled, so I think that you never actually enabled it. The new separate app says “Available in Tera Copy Pro†and does not do anything when you click in the left part of the app.
PS I posted this is the Nightly Builds Blog 24 hours ago, you should check blogs, etc. before posting a new version.

hi .. just started using teracopy 1 a few weeks ago and i love it! .. so today i see 2 is out , weeee! .. thank you to all devs :] ..
i like 2.0 but i don’t like the new queue behaviour , it opens new teracopy windows that say ‘move waiting’ .. thing is i copy / cut tons of files around all over the place and it sucks having 5 or 6 windows open. version 1 would just add the new moves to the queue in one window , any way to make 2 do that ?
Just bought it this morning, however the transaction sill on verifying. why does it takes so long T_T.
I do really want my key now.

Just tried to get the deal, but I missed it. It’s still the 23rd where I’m at… 🙁

Me too, it’s 9:36PM PST. I just spotted the new release on MajorGeeks, came here find/read recent changes, saw the note about 50% off, figure maybe it’s worth buying for $10 to pickup the extra features since I do like to use it once in a while. Oh well, guess I will continue using the free version as it does the job.
I use TaraCopy for a while and decided to support it !
One important feature (for me) doesn’t work as it would, each time you add a file to the queue it opens a new TeraCopy Window… 🙁
Thank you

i try the new teracopy 2.0 and it work ok but… is possible to have the old explorer shell integration like in 2.0 beta 4a? for me is beter and quickly than the new windows that appear

I started to use teracopy 2.0 but I have a problem: if I try to move files to a folder’s link I lose these files! There is nothing in the destination folder and in the origin folder! Why?

ya that whole “move waiting” window is a deal breaker for me , back to 1.22 if i can find a copy .. i don’t understand the new window deal , it has all new stats for the number of files and time etc etc , how is that useful ??? ..
PS.. please fix the download on your download section for version 1.22 .. it downloads 2.0 instead when clicked..

TeraCopy needs one feature:
Option button to set if you want to use TeraCopy instead of native Copy-Paste for all files OR only for big files.
When substituting native C-P procedure with TeraCopy, i don’t find useful if files are small.
The gain with big files is clear, but not with small files, since with native C-P, Windows Explorer refresh itself and files appear instantly, but with TeraCopy, there’s a gap of 1-2 seconds that i don’t want to wait.

I also have problems moving files with free version. I cut some files and paste them over another ones and click on the button “all” of overwrite seccition, but then the folder i cut still has some files in that havent been copied, i guess that files are the ones that didnt need to overwrite others (cause they werent in the destination folder). Please fix that i would prefer to have the lastest nightly back instead but i cant find the link now.

Alert:
Use of recent versions of TeraCopy may cause your file(s) to be lost if the move does not go correctly.
I moved a folder with TeraCopy 2.01. When the Move part finished and the Test part started, the original folder vanished immediately, so if the Test indicated not a match for a file, then that file would be lost entirely. I tried it again with another folder and same result.
I have now reverted back to 2.0 BETA 4 from prior to the nightly builds, until this is fixed, since I cannot afford to lose files entirely.

Hi,
I have been using TeraCopy on Vista for already more than a year now. It true that Vista SP1 onwards, the native copy program shipped with Vista has improved in terms of speed. But, as more than one commenters have pointed out, TeraCopy is more than handy if you are dealing with large file sets.
I am currently using 2.0 beta 4 and for some reason I decided to upgrade to the stable v2.0.1. But the download links are not working. I tried using both Firefox and IE8 to download but can’t.
IE stops for a while after downloading 99% and shows an error saying the connection with the server was reset.
Firefox also downloads 99% and shows an error saying the source file cannot be read.
As a last attempt, I tried using DownThemAll firefox extension. It reports an error saying that the file size in the HTTP header does not match with the size of the file downloaded.
However, I tried renaming the partial download file to exe and executing it to no avail. The MSI installer says, files are corrupt.
Please fix this ASAP.
Thanks,
kraghavk

@Jeff
You should submit it to ESET. I in addition to sKz and kraghavk are all having problems with it being flagged as a virus by NOD32.
Eliezer P on
@kraghavk
You might want to check if your antivirus program (probably NOD32) is having a false positive. This is usually how IE and Firefox act when a remote connection is terminated by an A/V prog.
I have to say that I don’t like this new window showed above (link). When it pops up I immediatelly press the second button “add files to teracopy” to show the normal window and choose there the path to copy/move to. Like other users I would prefer to get rid of it (sorry Jeff) to be more productive.
The favorite folders could be shown in the menu that opens when clicking “copy to” or “move to”, next to the recent used. And those could be set on the preferences window. I see you can also add them when clicking on the path after copying. That was also a good move. This prove I really don’t need that extra window added recently.

I too – have been a fan of TC for a long time but yesterday’s complete and utter failure to “move” a large file set from one location to another was finally the last straw. I am using the very latest 2.01 build and about 10% into a 197GB transfer – TC just stopped on a particular file and it took me about 2 minutes of clicking Skip, Resume etc etc before the bloody program would snap of of whatever hissy fit it was having.
It happened again about 10 minutes later and then again 15 minutes later. I checked and rechecked the files it was complaining about and found noting wrong. I uninstalled TC and when to the standard Vista Business move process which completed successfully with no issues in no time.
This product had a bright future here and I recommended it to many of my collegues – now tho – especially with the “move” function completely broken (leaves the original files/folder where they are – even tho I am asking for a move)it has been banished.
File move/copy in Vista SP2 is as fast or faster and does not make any mistakes.
Continued success….

Have to agree: TC 2.01 is still buggy. Reproducible error: Start a copy of two large files (5GB +) from Windows 7 (64-bit) to NAS. Once that starts, start a second similar copy from another Windows 7 folder to a different folder on the same NAS. Now the second copy waits, and waits, and waits .. Long after the first copy is done, it keeps waiting.
Have to say I prefer the old behaviour of everything in one TC window – can we bring that behaviour back as an option?

Hey, found a bug while I was copying ~800 pictures from hard drive to flash drive. It looked like it was caching the whole job (grey bar advancing much faster than the actual copying), and for most of the job, it showed 100% completion, while it was still copying over half of the pictures. Not a big deal–the files copied over great–but it couldn’t give me a time completion estimation.

Quick question. I am copying 225,000 files or around 750gb of data to another Drobo.I am seeing something like “Total 374.05GB of Error” I can’t imagine this is a good thing, but I can’t find any reference for this. Is anyone familiar with this type of “Error”?

Just wanted to say that this utility program has the performance characteristics of mainframe tools for the z/OS operating system on IBM System z such as FDR, DFSMSdss, FlashCopy, and PPRC. Phenomenal performance… If you are unfamiliar, you should look into REAL copy performance. Yes, the mainframe can copy THOUSANDS of storage volumes in their entirety in a matter of MINUTES (DS8000).
I just tested version 2 of TeraCopy on Windows 2000 SP4. It performs beautifully on a Pentium III 500 using an ASUS P2B LS motherboard (circa 1999)using a 300 Gig SATA drive and 512megs of memory! Just copied a 120 gig WD hard drive with it… in about 2.5 hours.
Is there an onboard feature to just create a one-for-on copy/backup image of a drive? That’s what I’m looking for.
Keep up the fine work!

A better USER GUIDE would be helpful and I’m hoping someone can tell me how to open the *.tcl files.
