Initial implementation of the file list, which currently allows scrolling and filtering. Items are loaded dynamically to support lists with virtually any size.

      Re:File list;
Would be nice to see teracopy comparing source and target before starting to copy, as in going through the source file list and checking for already existing files in target, giving a better estimate of actual job duration with skip all enabled.

Also, could the automatic log file be used as an index to already copied files?
I have a “dump” directory that’s monitored by a file sorting script moving all files to their respective sub dirs, I want to avoid having to copy the same files over and over.

    2. Kushari on November 23, 2015 15:12

I’d love to be able to copy a folder/files to another location and have multiple concurrent copy sessions to speed up transfers. I’m using link aggregation on my network and would like to see the benefit. So parralel file copy sessions would be nice. I bought the 50% off offer. Thanks.

      • Cris on November 25, 2015 03:29

For me serial copy is better! But no option to deactivating the parallel copy method. ๐Ÿ™
Please an option like: Wait for other copy actions before start new copy action.

And Taskbar progress support! Think it is in the todo list, or?

      • soilent on November 28, 2015 13:32

This only benefits you if you have multiple physical connections to the different drives.
If you write to the same hard disk or use the same connection (LAN, WiFi, USB, pciE), you’ll end up splitting the bandwith between the job, slowing down all operations.
This is especialy notable when having several operations writing to the same usb disk (splitting usb bandwith) or internal hard drive (splitting bandwith of the platter controler).

        • Kushari on November 28, 2015 13:34

It’s an 8 bay nas, with raid, 4 lan connections on the nas, 4 on my pic and all of them using link aggregation through my switch.

          • soilent on November 29, 2015 06:46

            okaaaaay…
maxim invoked: 37. There is no ‘overkill.’

            • Kushari on January 21, 2016 05:06

How do I go about doing that?

            • soilent on January 21, 2016 19:42

that thing is a “little” excessive and probably hyper professional grade server hardware.
But in the end you’re still limited to the chips shoveling the data through the bottleneck of the internal bus.

2ppl – how good new TC intercept copy/move command now?

    6. MJr on November 26, 2015 21:52

      Looking good.

Seems it doesn’t show the file list with regular drag & drop in explorer. Only when i first start TC and choose a destination manually. And there is no button to open the file list manually is there?

Also, when resizing the window, the content doesn’t actually move with it. ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Oleg on November 27, 2015 02:10

Panels can be expanded by double clicking or scrolling the mouse wheel, I’ll add the maximize button soon.

Good points about the progress bar, the final version will restore its state more fully, e.g. resuming copy after system restart.

        • MJr on November 27, 2015 03:47

Hey double click and scroll wheel works! Thanks.
Really needs a way for anyone to find that on their own though. ๐Ÿ™‚

I can do without fullscreen, but would like to make the list a little longer occasionally. ๐Ÿ™‚

          • Oleg on April 6, 2016 19:41

Just added Maximize button as well as Stop button.

            • MJr on April 6, 2016 20:49

Hey, long time no see. ๐Ÿ˜‰

That’s good. intuitively though i would expect to fold open the file list on the bottom where it will actually appear. Like a thin horizontal band with a triangle pointing downwards for example.

Also, i must be missing something but isn’t there a big stop button already? In any case the positioning is strange imho.

            • Oleg on April 6, 2016 21:45

This was my idea too, but there is not much space for it.

That button was in v2 only.

            • MJr on April 6, 2016 22:11

Maybe move Verify up (does it really need to be so huge? Could just be a checkbox for example), and move revealing the file list to the bottom right.

    7. Andros on November 27, 2015 18:14

Software has a limitation that RichCopy doesn’t have: If a drive disconnects, it will not continue to copy, and might even crash. I hope you can add an option to do multiple retrys.

    8. Raphael on December 5, 2015 12:07

Iยดd like to use TeraCopy everytime I copy a file, but I don’t make it my default copy method because… I’d like to use TeraCopy by default to move files only if these files are in different drives. If it’s on the same drive, it’s faster to use standard Windows move.

    9. Julia Robert on December 9, 2015 22:50

Data Synchronization, data mirroring, fast file copy, data migration, server migration, data replication, copy long path name, copy ntfs permissions, robocopy alternative….. integrate all this topics ……..

    10. Rudi Coetzee on December 10, 2015 17:30

Hi Guys, there seems to be a problem when copying via slow VPN connections, terracopy throws a timeout error, and this varies, sometimes at the start of the copy, sometimes during the copy – for no apparent reason, other than that the timeout value seems too low.

    11. Rafael Miranda on December 11, 2015 09:15

You can not copy / move system files. Administrator Mode feature.

    12. soilent on December 11, 2015 21:05

using a lnk file to supply often used commands to teracopy I notice whatever I put as target, it allways creates a sub directory named the same as the source folder.
Last live version the same with as a5.

Can you shed some light on this?
Or at least let us control that behavior, it’s infuriating.

    13. Rafael Miranda on December 12, 2015 03:28

Tasks can stand side by side (tabs feature), it is very confusing down and loses much screen space. With this system only works well down to two tasks.

    14. SqlBarbarian on December 16, 2015 01:11

If the target folder doesn’t exist it proceeds with error. If the target directory doesn’t exist, can we have it create the directory?

    15. SqlBarbarian on December 16, 2015 01:11

I’m not having 3.0 Alpha 5 work as a default handler. Is this on purpose or anyway to fix?

      • SqlBarbarian on December 16, 2015 01:19

correction. It is working. I think it has to do with the settings in XYplorer, as windows explorer is correctly working right now. I will figure out the configuration change for xyplorer.

    16. Amy Renavion on December 20, 2015 17:19

just only for windows 8, not for windows xp, vista or 7 ?

    17. shogunreaperr on December 23, 2015 00:54

i was using an older version of teracopy (2.27) and trying to copy files over ftp network that was set up on my kindle fire.

But i just get target folder not available when i go to start the transfer. Is this fixed in newer ones?

    18. Serghei Bulah on December 23, 2015 21:13

Really slow when copying to Usb flash drive. Win explorer is 3 times faster. Tested on Win 10 Pro.

      • dtouch on January 27, 2016 17:14

same here.. also error at times.

      • Nomen Est Omen on February 4, 2016 01:47

true, much slower than either the TeraCopy 2.3 or Total Commander.
Surprisingly, did not even notice any difference (tested 4 – 5 times) between a known fast USB 3 stick and a very old USB 2.
(Properly connected – I do know which port to use).
Did not get any errors, though.

    19. sPaCeMoNk3y on December 27, 2015 13:58

Hi, I’m on a fresh Windows 10 Education x64 Build 10586 and TeraCopy is only occasionally jumping in for the windows built-in copier/mover. Are you aware of that problem?

    20. AA on December 31, 2015 00:35

I’ve noticed that Teracopy 2.3 has a bug when trying to copy a folder with a space in front of the name.

So if I copy a folder like (exclude quotes) ” MyFolder” it will be copied as “MyFolder” to the destination.
Found the issue by accident, and when I did a folder compare I found the mismatch.

Dont know if this is the right section to report bugs or if it also affects TC3.0.

    21. Blake Harmon on December 31, 2015 12:15

Terra copy freezes on me when using the filter option to only show errors. I am using tera copy 3.0 alpha 5. Any ideas? It does this no matter the filesize.

    22. Timo Suominen on January 8, 2016 00:45

Any idea when the bug of not able to copy to mounted NAS drives (Target: The system can not find the file specified) will be fixed? That’s been reported by me ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • Timo Suominen on January 21, 2016 18:23

        Any news?

    23. Giannis Mamalikidis on January 8, 2016 04:32

You really need to put a graph on the main progress bar.
I honestly would buy the commercial license, even though I don’t commercially use it, to have it look more beautiful and with a graph

    24. Acurse888 on January 8, 2016 09:24

I’d like the File List window to fill the space with more files shown, when expanding the window size. And also for the progress indicator to highlight/follow the active file that’s being copied. In other words… more visibility on current progress. Otherwise, teracopy is awesome.

    25. Spacer on February 1, 2016 12:34

On move, sometimes folders are not being deleted and job remains there with 0 or some sec left and after restart. Also with stop does not stop the job or slow react, must close from task manager.

      Alpha 6 coming anytime soon?

      • nobody on March 24, 2016 06:50

Me too, would like to see an updated version with some of the new features soon. Still using teracopy 2 because it is better for now.

      • Oleg on April 6, 2016 20:27

        Yes, this month.

        • Bruno on May 7, 2016 01:13

Hi Oleg, you said Alpha 6 or stable in April, can we expect in May? Great program!

          • Oleg on May 7, 2016 02:05

            Yes, see http://google.com/+teracopy

    27. alamarco on February 14, 2016 10:57

I’ve been running stable (2.3) since I’m not a fan of using alpha software. Will the new version support larger file transfers? With the current stable version (2.3), I’m running into crashes when I have 65535+ files (max size of a 16-bit unsigned int). Hoping to see this fixed as it really makes using Tera Copy very tedious.

    28. DanVkx on February 15, 2016 06:59

I don’t see the file list (see picture)… Why ?

Other : is’t possible to do for integrate on Free Commander?

    29. DanVkx on February 15, 2016 07:07

Oher thing, why not test on moving ? It’s better to test before erasing the original file…

      • Oleg on April 6, 2016 21:47

This is exactly what happening when you move files in v3.

    30. DanVkx on February 15, 2016 07:12

And for verify copied/moved files it’s saver to do each time a file is copied/verified… Not a the end of all the files are copied/moved…

    31. ????? on February 19, 2016 09:20

      How change language?

PS. In options file, item “Language=ru” writed, but interface to english.

    32. Stdedos on February 26, 2016 21:32

Portable Version SHOULD NOT install a windows service (D’oh!)
      That’s not “portable”

    33. Hans Schmidt on March 4, 2016 00:48

Actually i think it’s annoying that it takes such a long time to relase a stable version. I bought teracopy in order to support the work on it but it looks like the project is nearly dead again.

    34. Roberto on April 1, 2016 12:13

Got an “Error trimming file” exception.

    35. True Blue on April 9, 2016 06:37

    37. Mehmet Ali on April 11, 2016 18:06

      user interface is very diffucult

    38. Sparktank on April 27, 2016 03:09

Is there any way to queue transfers instead of them all operating at once? In old version, adding a new transfer would add it to queue instead of immediate execution.

      • Cris on April 27, 2016 03:53

Start one copy action then drag’n’drop a file/folder from Explorer to the running copy task. Then it will be copied serial to the same location as the start copy action! Only different copy task will be copied as parallel! An option to disable parallel copy on different copy task would be great!

        • Sparktank on April 27, 2016 04:20

Ah. New stipulation: Different locations. Not limited to same_location only.

        • TSlick on May 12, 2016 13:08

This is not exactly a solution to the question as far I can tell and also if true is a completely terrible turns of events. The beauty of teracopy was loading up moves and copies in all directions just by dragging and dropping and knowing after you went for a coffee they would all be done. No “old-style” queuing will be the end of this great piece of software. I’m really hoping I misunderstood.

    39. Sheldon Hull on April 27, 2016 03:12

I would also like to say that I rarely purchase licenses for small utilities like this but I did for your product. I’d really like a better idea on roadmap as I’ve had to stop using due to some issues, and would really like to switch back over to teracopy as it develops. A slow roadmap would be understood, but no timing or eta for updates makes it feel almost like a dead project.

    40. Jerome Meyer on April 27, 2016 09:01

On teracopy 2 when there were errors reported during the copy, I could just hit copy again to recopy the failed files. Can I do that with teracopy 3? I can not seem to figure out how.

    41. Sami on April 27, 2016 12:40

      Any Update?!?

    42. Samuel on April 29, 2016 06:35

Hello, when can we expect the new realese?

    43. Oleg on May 7, 2016 02:04

      Current progress on version 3:

      – Wait for network/device recovery.
      – Save checksums to .md5 file.
      – Progress in the taskbar.
      – Windows 8/10 notifications.
      – Reports (html and csv format).
      – Timer in the replace dialog.
      – Insufficient space warning.
      – Lot of bugfixes and UI improvements.

We expect to release the beta version of 3.0 very soon.?

thank you for sharing an update. I’d suggest you post this as an actual blog post. I had to dig to find it and it sure would be great for others to see the update progress.

        • Sheldon Hull on May 7, 2016 02:09

Sorry, I see you are posting on google+. Didn’t expect that. Just throwing out there that you might consider posting just on your blog and then push the updates via IFTTT or zapier. Not sure that most folks come to your blog and expect updates to be in a specific social network. Not a big deal, just surprised. I’ll follow there for now. cheers!

      Hi!

When will the version Alpha 6?

      Thank you for answer

    45. TSlick on May 12, 2016 13:01

Running Alpha 5 – moves do not queqe up and just all start at once with the obvouis problems that causes. The source is different on all the moves but the detination is the same. Anyway to fix that?

    46. TSlick on May 12, 2016 13:13

So my copies and moves no longer queue now, they just all start at once. Please tell me how to fix it? If this is on purpose and a design decision then I’m sorry we are parting ways and i’m sure are lots of others. Enjoyed your work tremendously but this would be suicide of the craziest degree.

Hopefully i’m overreacting and there’s a fix or one incoming. Please please let me know.

      • Oleg on May 12, 2016 14:59

I’ve implemented this feature yesterday. TeraCopy will queue transfers if source or target _physical_ drive is busy.

    47. Oleg on May 16, 2016 15:50

The final change log for upcoming beta, it will be released after a few days of testing.

      Engine:
      – Queue transfers for the same physical drive.
      – Wait for network or device recovery.
      – Save checksums to .md5 file.
      – Support for CRC32 in the file name.
      – Better reports (html and csv format).
      – Insufficient space warning.

      File list:
      – Show skipped files only.
      – Remove all transferred files.

      UI:
      – Progress in the taskbar.
      – Windows 8/10 notifications.
      – Replace mode and hash options.
      – Timer in the replace dialog.
